What a truly sunshine drenched wedding!

The Dream

Gill and Jordan’s dream was to have a wedding full of sunshine – and that’s just what happened!  After falling in love with the gardens at Moxhull Hall and the idea of having an outdoor wedding, Gill said that even though when they’d first come to have a look round it was pouring with rain she thought the grounds were “just enchanting”.

Bright and cheery set the theme for the day and the happy couple set about filling their wedding day with summer sunshine.

The colour scheme

The colour scheme obviously had to include pretty primrose yellow, the bride’s favourite which the florist incorporated accents of purple with to offset the golden hues.

The Cake

What a way to add more of that golden yellow than with 50 freshly squeezed lemons in the wedding cake! Gill’s very talented mum made a rather special lemon sponge three tiered wedding cake! Her hard work for a whole week leading up to the wedding sure did pay off as the cake tasted absolutely amazing.

Yet more talent came from the wedding party from a bridesmaid who happened to be a whizz with a sewing machine. Making adorable rustic table runners in yellow gingham, bringing the perfect highlight to all of Gill’s home made table decor …little jam jars decorated with hessian and lace and displaying the pretty fresh cut flowers, vintage cinema tickets as place names (in yellow obviously) along with bunting, suitcases and a large canvas for the table plan adding to the garden party theme.

The Invitations

The most personalised of all invitations came from one of Gill’s reception class students who painted a picture of the happy couple on their wedding day! Gill made the invitations herself using this design.

The Dress

The beautiful bride’s dress came from Fairy Tale Brides in Manchester and its intricate design delivered just what it had promised! Layers and layers of skirt, laced sleeves delicate design, Gill had no doubts at all that this was ‘the one’. The three bridesmaids and flower girl wore lovely lemon coloured gowns, all individual in style but the lace and ribbons perfectly in keeping with the theme. Jordan wore duck egg blue waistcoat and the groomsmen has dark blue waistcoats. They each had a yellow flower buttonhole too.

The Honeymoon

After a truly wonderful wedding day thankfully drenched in glorious sunshine, the happy couple continued their quest for some golden rays venturing to Mexico a few days later for their honeymoon.

And they lived happily ever after.
